1967 Olds Toronado 

This is a 1967 Toronado owned by the Holzhauers of Crown Point, IN.  They purchased the car in Florida and drove it home with minimal problems.  Though it appeared to be a solid car, after media blasting at Imperial Blasting Technologies of South Holland, IL, we found the car to be a little rough.

Tim Holzhauer pulled the motor and hauled the car to us.  We disassembled the car, marked and tagged everything, and then shipped it off to blasting.

We bag and tag everything, then we store it so it doesn't get lost, damaged, or mixed up with other cars. The Holzhauers did their homework on restoration.  They knew all the right questions to ask.  Their main concerns were the cost and quality of our work. After inspecting some of our "in progress" restorations and talking to us about our charges, they were ready to proceed.

The Toro has come back from the media blaster.  As you can see, all the rust, paint, and bondo are now off the car, so we have a nice clean surface to work with. You can see the old body patch at the bottom of the quarter that was put in with screws and rivets.

You can see here that the roof supports are rotted at the base, so we will have to weld in some new pieces to strengthen and reshape them.

The door hinge supports are rotted away, so we'll have to cut out as much as possible and replace it with new metal.

The roof itself is also rotted in some places, so we'll have to patch it in as well.

Here is the lip of the patch on the inner edge of the wheel well.

The drip rails for the trunk were rotted in some places, so we cut out the rotted area and replaced it.

Here are some of the roof patches that wemade.This car had some issues in the lower door hinge area.  We fabricated several pieces and welded them together to make one solid area.

As you can see, we are making a lot of head way on the Holzhauers Toro.  We're not sure who's more excited....Tim and Sherri, or their daughter who is looking forward to taking the Toro to prom.

The passenger rear of the car has been duraglassed and is ready to be block sanded.

The drip rail and lip of the window have been patched nicely.  This car is really starting to take shape.

Some duraglass patches have been made in the driver's rear side of the car. The whole quarter will now be duraglassed to smooth out the whole quarter.

There have been some patches made here in the roof. This car is really starting to come together nicely.

The body work has begun on the driver's quarter. There is much of it to be done.

Painted and ready to go home where the Holzauer's will be installing the bumpers and interior.
